John Stuart
Chairperson & Trustee
John was Chief Nurse at GRI until he retired in 2020. He continues to do some consultancy NHS work. John is full of life and as well as being our esteemed leader, he also volunteers in the museum. A football fan and keen golfer, John has a great sense of humour (necessary for the aforementioned pursuits!) and is a devoted family man.
Dr Hilary Wilson
Trustee
Hilary works as a full-time consultant rheumatologist. She is a very busy bee and lives and breathes FOGRI. Hilary championed FOGRI from the start and in particular the GRI gardens and our bees. In her spare (!) time she does the FOGRI accounts, runs, swims, hill walks and chills with Ripley her border terrier (her photo is with her first dog Kipper).
Dr Kate Stevens
Trustee
Kate works as a full-time consultant nephrologist and runs the FOGRI social media accounts. When not immersed in all things GRI related, Kate likes practising her (basic!) Italian and spending time with her two dogs, Wilma and Fred as well as teaching aerobics classes. She also looks after one of our GRI bee hives along with Hilary.
Dr Morven McElroy
Trustee
Morven works as a full-time consultant geriatrician. She is fascinated by medical history and has an active role as honorary librarian within The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. When not researching the history of GRI Morven can be found singing with Scottish Opera, working with The Royal College or spending time with her family.
Bob Stevens
Trustee
Bob is retired and has a keen interest in the museum and medical history. It was an interest he didn’t know he had until his daughter, Kate, roped him into being involved! He now writes many of the biographies on our website and coordinates our wonderful volunteers. Like John, Bob is a keen golfer and can often be found strolling down the fairway in his free time!
Lorna Clarke
Administrative volunteer
Lorna is a lawyer in her day job but also helps out volunteering on the admin side of FOGRI. If you email us, it is likely to be Lorna who replies. She enjoys running and spending time with her family in between trying to coordinate the renovation of her house and garden. When the garden is finished Lorna is keen to have a beehive of her own.
