December 13: Christmas carol service 2025
Christmas is coming which means one thing - the Friends of GRI Christmas carol service is just around the corner!
Yes it’s that time of the year again when we dust down our Santa hats and have a right good festive sing song at Glasgow Cathedral. It’s free and open to all so why not join us for a mince pie and refreshments in the FOGRI Museum from 4.30pm then head over to the cathedral for a 5.30pm start.
All we ask is you please reserve a spot here so we have an idea of numbers.
This year the brilliant St Mungo’s School Choir are joining us again. The talented Telemann Ensemble will perform too, with Prof Malcolm Sim, consultant anaesthetist, our fantastic organist.
It will, of course, be conducted by the cathedral’s very own Father of Christmas, Revd Mark Johnstone. He is possibly the coolest, most inclusive Minister we have ever met and really makes everyone feel welcome!
The retiring collection will be split between St Mungo’s Primary, The Cathedral and Friends of GRI (there is a QR code to donate available too)
The more festive your attire the better so feel free to don jumpers, santa hats, deely boppers or similar. Just remember the cathedral can be chilly so wrap up warmly.
Don’t forget to reserve your free spot here.
